The Beginning: A Career Rooted in Hospitality
I started in the hospitality industry—serving, bartending, and immersing myself in the fast-paced world of restaurants and bars. While I left the industry for other career paths, I found myself returning to it in short bursts over the years. There was something familiar about it, something that felt like a safety net when I was unsure of my next move. But deep down, I knew it wasn’t my forever.

Exploring Different Career Paths
I wanted to find something that truly fulfilled me, so I ventured beyond hospitality. I stepped into sales in the travel and vacation industry, where I got a taste of working with people in a new capacity. Then, I took the leap into life insurance sales as a self-employed agent, craving more independence. Later, I transitioned into the finance industry, working at an investment firm for a couple of years.
With each career shift, I gained new skills and made a comfortable income. But something was always missing. I didn’t feel aligned with my work. I was checking the boxes of what I should do but not what I wanted to do.
A Drastic Leap Into Remote Work
When I found out I was going to become a mom, everything changed. I wanted the freedom to work on my own terms, to be present for my child without sacrificing income or independence. So, I took a drastic leap—I quit my income-generating jobs and threw myself into the world of online business.
Here’s the thing about remote work: there are COUNTLESS opportunities! And without guidance, it can feel like a maze with no clear direction.
My Missteps
Looking back, I made a lot of mistakes that prolonged my journey to success. But those mistakes were also lessons that shaped me into the entrepreneur I am today.
- Shiny Object Syndrome: I wanted to try everything. Every time I saw a new opportunity, I jumped ship and started something new. I tried Dropshipping, print-on-demand, e-commerce stores, freelance advertising, affiliate marketing, and digital products. Instead of mastering one, I scattered my focus across too many.
- I Didn’t Treat It Like a Real Job: I expected things to magically take off. Instead of setting structured work hours and focusing on daily progress, I treated it like a casual side project.
- I Didn’t Ask for Help: I had access to platforms, courses, and trainings, but I rarely used them. I thought I could figure it out alone.
- I Was Winging It: I tried to copy the success I saw elsewhere without understanding the strategy behind it. I had no clear roadmap, no defined goals, just a vague desire to “make money online.”
Learning & Growth: What These Experiences Taught Me
Each misstep was frustrating, but each one also brought me closer to clarity. I learned the importance of commitment, focus, and education. I realized that success doesn’t come from hopping between ideas—it comes from mastering one and sticking with it long enough to see results.
And here’s an important lesson: Just because something didn’t work for me doesn’t mean it isn’t a profitable and fulfilling venture for others. Some of these business models—like e-commerce and digital products—are incredible opportunities when approached with the right strategy. I got great training, worked on wonderful platforms, and learned valuable skills along the way.
The Game Changer
After countless trials, I finally found my game-changer—the one online business model where I blossomed and thrived: Affiliate Marketing. The platform that became my game changer and the community that provided the guidance I needed made all the difference—that’s a story for another day. 😉
