Our Journey: From Career Changes to Freedom
Over the past 13 years together, my husband and I have taken a few detours when it comes to our careers. He started in finance and mortgages before making the bold decision to become a commercial pilot. Meanwhile, I transitioned from working a traditional jobs to becoming a stay-at-home mom and diving into online entrepreneurship.
It wasn’t always easy (hello, uncertainty and big life transitions!), but we both knew we wanted careers that brought us happiness, fulfillment, and freedom. Now, he’s soaring in the skies, and I’m running an online business that allows me to be present for our son while contributing financially. And the best part? We’re doing work we love—work that allows us to explore, grow, and create a future on our own terms.
The Moment It All Clicked: Why We Chose This Lifestyle
One of the biggest ‘aha’ moments for us came during our travels to Scotland and Ireland. That trip solidified what we already knew—we didn’t want to be tied to a rigid 9-to-5 that limited our ability to explore the world. We wanted careers that allowed for countless adventures, quality family time, and the ability to work from anywhere.
We realized that success wasn’t about climbing the corporate ladder—it was about creating a life that felt fulfilling, exciting, and most importantly, aligned with our values. That’s when everything changed.
